Training:
Who do you train with?
Training partners of mine include athletes training out of long man jiujitsu Koloa, as well as athletes out of boars nest kauai and KPAL boxing.
What style of fighting do you train?
I train, Muay Thai, boxing, kick boxing, jiujitsu and wrestling. I favor the stand up game but am comfortable on the ground as well liking the ground and pound game too.
When and why did you start training for fighting?
Reason why: I started training for fighting around 21. Being that I’m a competitor, I gave fighting a try and ended up liking and eventually loving every bit of the process leading to the fight itself.
What does it mean for you to fight in X1 World Events?
To be a contracted X-1 fighter to me is a big deal. Being as they’re the top fight promotion coming out of Hawaii helping us local fighters to attain dreams of ours leaves me grateful for all the exposure and all the opportunities they give us to display our love for the sport as well as the arts and to put on a nice show for the audience and supporters to enjoy. Seeing locals from the Hawaiian islands in the UFC/ ONE/ LFA/ PFL and other big name promotions gives us local fighters hope in an attainable dream thru hard work, dedication, and blood sweat and tears.
What was your job before you started fighting?
Outside of fighting and training, I’m a union electrician. Our job is pretty strenuous, physical, and laborious at times and demands a lot out of our body and mind. But as soon as we’re done for the day, I kill some caffeine and it’s straight to the real work. Not being so privileged to have the whole day training and perfecting my arts has its downs, however training before and after work and getting in quality training is all that matters at the end of the day.
