LADIES’S SELF-DEFENSE SEMINAR. With Egan Inoue and Alex O’Loughlin @1 and 3 p.m. May 3, 2015

Womens Self Defense Seminar with Hawaii 5-O Alex O'Loughlin

Actor Alex O’Loughlin, star of the CBS cops drama “Hawaii Five-0,” offered self-defense advice for women throughout a class he helped teach in 2013 with mixed martial arts professional Egan Inoue.

Fans of the TV show “Hawaii Five-0″ fly countless miles to get a glimpse of its star, Alex O’Loughlin, at the annual Sunset on the Beach red carpet period opened. However recently when the actor got to his preferred health club, nobody blinked, least of all a small group of women who had actually simply completed a workout.

O’Loughlin, sporting an unshaven look, black T-shirt and a round cap emblazoned with the logo design for the skateboard magazine Thrasher, walked into Egan’s Training Center all but disregarded. Students at the Moiliili center are accustomed to seeing the actor, who slipped into the workplace of gym owner Egan Inoue.

LADIES’S SELF-DEFENSE SEMINAR.

With Egan Inoue and Alex O’Loughlin:.

” When: 1 and 3 p.m. May 3.

” Where: Egan’s Training Center, 2700 S. King St.

” Cost: $300, consists of an autographed photograph of Alex O’Loughlin and an occasion T-shirt.

” Information: Go online at hawaiifitcamp.com or call 271-3779.

But the actor will put his star power front-and-center next month when he joins Inoue, a previous blended martial arts champion, to provide a pair of self-defense seminars for ladies. Students will certainly get up-close, hands-on demonstrations developed to assist them fend off assaulters, and 100 percent of the earnings from the.

May 3 classes will go to the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children. The 90-minute workshops will certainly be at Inoue’s training center.

O’Loughlin helped teach a class in 2013 that raised $10,000– no, he didn’t need to fend off any yelling women– and he stated there is a real need for them.

“There’s great deals of cases right here where females are getting into problem,” O’Loughlin said as he sat with Inoue and described the classes. “It’s an extremely genuine thing.”.

It’s not unexpected that females often request self-defense classes, he said. In Hawaii it can be difficult to obtain far from a violent circumstance.

“It’s a small island, there’s a great deal of individuals,” O’Loughlin stated. “There’s a lot of crime, and there’s no place for it to go. On the mainland you can get on a Greyhound bus and go to Toledo, however right here you cannot go anywhere. So it’s not going to stop. It’s so essential to offer ladies the confidence to try to combat back.”.

O’Loughlin said he’s grateful to assist and the classes are enjoyable.

Women’s Self-Defense Seminar

“We took some pictures at the end, of course. … We enjoyed,” he said. “They understand that it’s a charity event, and if my existence right here draws in individuals and inspires them to compose a check, that’s good. It’s such a fantastic cause.”.

If you’re fortunate you might even get pinned by the actor, however after he showed a big bear hug on instructor Heather Wong, it’s obvious that he will not be getting too physical.

The workshops will focus on “nonstriking self-defense” that is based on Inoue’s martial arts training. Individuals will find out fast, easy and effective techniques for the most typical confrontational circumstances and exercise their new skills with Inoue and O’Loughlin.

O’Loughlin has trained with Inoue in one-on-one jiujitsu sessions frequently for nearly three years. When he’s not on the “Five-0″ set, O’Loughlin comes fives times a week.

He sought out Inoue at the urging of “Five-0″ co-star Scott Caan, who had been training with the mixed martial arts expert for a year and told his good friend to try it.

“He was searching for something more than acting in his life,” Inoue stated of O’Loughlin. “He’s been phenomenal about his training.”.

Inoue stated he’s anticipating another effective fundraiser throughout which fans can meet O’Loughlin and find out vital skills at the same time.

“It’s all about physics and angles and not about being faster and stronger than your opponent,” Inoue stated. “You can be smaller, however if you understand leverage points, that’s the key.”.

But there will be physical fitness– just in case you were believing the workshops were only about escape techniques.

“We will be doing workouts between the self-defense moves,” Inoue said. “The much better shape you’re in, the longer you’re able to struggle. The longer you can struggle, the better your possibilities for survival.”.

Enson at Shirokiya Feb 12 to March 3

Enson and SJ are at Shirokiya in the Ala Moana Shopping Center, Honolulu. Come check us out! We’ll be here from Feb 12 to March 3, 2015.
Enson Inoue with Destiny Forever LLC

An accomplished fighter, businessman and humanitarian, Enson Inoue founded DESTINY FOREVER LLC in 2011 with one clear vision in mind – to help those that are less fortunate.

After some close encounters of his own, Enson quickly learned the healing and intimate nature that crystals give to the wearer. In Japanese tradition, if these bracelets break while worn – it is actually a good thing – as the healing and protective nature of the crystals are said to absorb the negative events or energy that would have otherwise harmed the person.

He made them for close friends and family and was constantly asked where he “purchased” them from. This was something that resonated within him for a while – how could this opportunity be grasped to assist others. In light of these questions and the fact he could use funds to help people he decided to set up the business, uniting people under a common goal – compassion.

DESTINY FOREVER LLC is operated on core values such as Honesty, Integrity, Family, helping others and Trust and this is an integral part to the way business in conducted.

Enson’s efforts are currently focused on delivering essential supplies to the people in the North of Japan. He uses both personal funds and those raised through DESTINY FOREVER LLC to purchase such things as water, rice, toiletries and other things that will help improve the quality of life for those affected by the March 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. To date he has completed over 23 missions, and vows to continue them until the people of the North can continue living a “normal” life.

Destiny Forever

Enson also works towards helping foster better relationships between groups of people involved in the welfare of animals, this includes his drives down to Taiji to meet with parties that have an interest in the activities around the treatment of dolphins there.

To help him live the values and Yamatodamashii way, Enson regularly walks the Shikoku pilgrimage in the south of Japan. For him it is a way of gaining inner peace and perspective on the life we live, bringing patience, humbleness and gratitude among other things.  Many people from around the world complete this pilgrimage and Enson is one pilgrim that returns to do it in order to exercise his mind, body and soul.

You can follow Enson on his journeys through his Facebook fan pageTwitterBlog or Japanese blog.
