X1 World Events returns to Kona to feature more of the Big Island’s best talent. The live event takes place 5:00 PM Saturday November 21, 2009, at the Kekuaokalani Gym in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. It will be light’s out for someone in this stand and bang double feature. The main event will feature a stand up match between kickboxing and mma fighter Chris Cisneros of Hilo and Rumble on the Rock veteran Kaleo Padilla. The semi main event will also be and action packed stand up match when former boxer Elward Westbrook takes on UFC and K1 veteran Wesley “Cabbage” Correira of Hilo. Those who have seen Cabbage say that he is ready to prove why he will always be at the top of Hawaii’s HW
division.
Big Island fighter now living on Oahu Justin Mercado is determined to get a second chance at the X1145lb State Title when he battles it out against Tyler Kahihikolo. In the 170lb division Kaeo Meyers of Kona Boxing will go for his second win in X1 but standing in his way is the very tough Ronald Hayward founder of the Polynesian Fight club.
Peni Taufaao makes his long awaited return to the ring when he goes up against HIBC’s Spencer Higa to see who is X1’s top 145lb kickboxer. Four ladies will battle it out in the X1 ring for the very first time. Billie Kamakea will fight Lani Fauhiva in a 150lb match. Sivada Koulphasen will take on Sarah Kahele in a 120lb pankration match.
Also that night will be an exciting undercard featuring more of Hawaii’s top up and comers from gyms like MMAD, 808 Fight Factory, Polynesian Fight Club, Team Submit, HIBC, 9 Block, Kona Boxing, Hawaiian MMA, Average Joe’s, Bang Inc and Universal Combat.
